Large pendant vases "The Sumptuous Gardens of Bayeux"

France, Bayeux, 19th century.
Height 44 cm.
Excellent condition despite very slight wear to the gilding.
The deep cobalt background seems to capture the evening light, against which the gilded motifs and delicately painted floral compositions blaze. The bouquets blooming in the central medallions breathe life—roses, anemones, and garden flowers unite in a harmony where each petal appears illuminated from within.
The finely gilded handles lend the forms a solemn plasticity, reinforcing the impression of nobility and presence. These vases do not merely adorn the space—they shape its atmosphere, bringing the depth of blue, the soft gleam of gold, and a discreet, almost pictorial, 19th-century poetry.
